Suzanne Banks is pursuing her second master’s degree in Biology from Miami University.  She previously earned a BA in Sociology (Psychology minor) from Hofstra University, and a MA in Public Policy from Stony Brook University. Her current graduate research focuses on strategies for effectively communicating conservation to nontraditional and skeptical audiences.  She is driven by her belief that “preaching to the choir” is not the best path to generate positive environmental outcomes.  Rather, the most meaningful change occurs when people from diverse backgrounds with unique perspectives come together and find common ground.  Suzanne understands that in the face of climate change, protecting the natural environment and harnessing the power of Mother Nature is more important than ever.  Suzanne has interned for Wildlife Conservation Society (Federal Affairs) and is excited to be a 2021 USFWS DFP Fellow.
