Ian is a Master’s student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research delves into the foraging behavior, reproductive success, and food resources of the eastern whip-poor-will. Before starting grad school, Ian received a B.S. from Oregon State University, majoring in fish and wildlife science. He then spent three years as a roving wildlife technician that saw him working on avian research projects across California and Colorado, with a brief stint in Ecuador. Ian is interested in most facets of wildlife biology, with a particular curiosity for population ecology, migration, and the conservation of threatened species.
