Hispanic Access Foundation Announces 2023 Ambassadors for the 10th Anniversary of Latino Conservation Week

Category: News Releases

Hispanic Access is excited to announce the 2023 Ambassadors for the 10th Anniversary of Latino Conservation Week. This year, from July 15 to July 23, communities throughout the country will enjoy and connect with the great outdoors for the annual Latino Conservation Week (LCW), an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation. This year’s Latino Conservation Week ambassadors will assist community members with understanding, planning and getting involved with Latino Conservation Week efforts.

“Latino Conservation Week helps break down barriers for Latino communities to access public lands and waters, encourages new opportunities for engagement and inspires the next generation of environmental stewards,” said Maite Arce, President and CEO of Hispanic Access Foundation. “Our ambassadors have been carefully selected as experts who are environmental stewards in their community and passionate about the outdoors.”

During Latino Conservation Week, Latino communities, organizations, businesses, families and individuals participate in a variety of activities, both in-person and virtual, like hikes, kayaking, park clean-ups, online expeditions, roundtable discussions, Q&A sessions, scavenger hunts, film screenings, etc. The ambassadors will serve as local and regional experts, as many have hosted their own events in previous years. They will help the public with finding resources for planning events, answering general questions about LCW and the request for support mini-grant program, and helping connect the public to other partners in the area.

This year’s Lead Ambassadors who can support with any questions about Latino Conservation Week nationwide include:

  • Shley Suarez-Burgos | Miami, FL
