Steven Hein

I am a PhD candidate at Miami University of Ohio in the Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology program. My research centers on using genetic techniques to study the evolutionary history of imperiled species and how we can use that information to make informed conservation decisions. My more recent work tends to focus on endangered freshwater mollusks but I have experience in a broad array of systems and taxa. Prior to beginning at Miami, I finished a Master’s of Science in Biology at the University of Texas at Tyler and Bachelors of Arts in Biology at McDaniel College in Westminster Maryland.
