Category: News Releases

Hispanic Access Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members to its growing Forestry Program–Juliana Rodriguez, who will serve as the Grants Portfolio Manager, and Naomi Rodriguez, the new Administrative Associate. These new hires will bring valuable expertise as Hispanic Access continues its mission to expand urban forestry efforts and elevate underrepresented communities in environmental advocacy.

Juliana Rodriguez, born in Bogotá, Colombia, is a bilingual conservation social scientist with nearly a decade of program and grant management experience. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de América, Colombia, and has pursued further academic qualifications with a Master’s in Environmental Management and Quality Assurance. Throughout her career, Juliana Rodriguez has led impactful community-based projects and developed a deep commitment to water conservation and equity in leadership, particularly for women and Indigenous populations.

“I am excited to join Hispanic Access Foundation and contribute to its mission of empowering communities while addressing critical environmental challenges,” said Juliana Rodriguez. “As a woman of color and a conservationist, I am deeply invested in ensuring equitable access to green spaces.”

Naomi Rodriguez, the new Administrative Associate for the Forestry Program, brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit management and community engagement. Fluent in Spanish, Naomi Rodriguez has dedicated her career to creating equitable opportunities for underrepresented communities. She holds a B.A. in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Human Services from John Jay College, and has successfully managed youth programs and community-based partnerships across Long Island, New York.

“I am thrilled to join an organization whose values align with my own passion for uplifting marginalized communities and creating pathways for success,” said Naomi Rodriguez. “I look forward to supporting the Forestry Program’s vital work in expanding urban forests and empowering Latino and Indigenous voices. By enhancing the urban tree canopy, we can reduce heat, improve air quality, and provide critical health and environmental benefits to our communities.”

Naomi Rodriguez has made significant contributions to strategic initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive environments. Her work at Hispanic Access will support the organization’s mission to increase equitable access to trees and green spaces.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Juliana and Naomi to our team,” said Maite Arce, president and CEO of Hispanic Access Foundation. “Their expertise, dedication, and passion for equitable conservation practices will be invaluable as we continue to advance our work in forestry and environmental advocacy.”
