Hispanic Access Announces Partnership with Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® Program

Category: News Releases

Hispanic Access Foundation is honored to partner with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR program to promote energy efficiency and sustainability in congregations through Por La Creación Faith-Based Alliance. Together, we will work to educate congregations nationwide on how they can improve energy efficiency and fight climate change through a strategic, corporate energy management program and help preserve the environment for future generations.

“For more than a decade, Hispanic Access has catapulted our trust-based community networks into action by providing access, capacity, and the belief to create beneficial changes in their communities,” said Hispanic Access’ President and CEO Maite Arce. “We’re thrilled to join ENERGY STAR for this partnership and for the support in gaining new resources and tools for our communities.”

The Por La Creación Faith-Based Alliance educates and empowers stewards of God’s creation to leave a legacy for the future by conserving our natural environment. Composed of Latino faith leaders around the US, Por La Creación encourages Latinos to take active engagement in protecting the nation’s natural resources. Through this program, we will equip congregations with the ENERGY STAR Action Workbook for Congregations and other resources to support them in implementing energy efficiency and sustainability measures.

ENERGY STAR® is the government-backed symbol for energy efficiency, providing simple, credible, and unbiased information that consumers and businesses rely on to make well-informed decisions. Thousands of industrial, commercial, utility, state, and local organizations—including nearly 40% of the Fortune 500®—partner with EPA to deliver cost-saving energy efficiency solutions that protect the climate while improving air quality and protecting public health. Since 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped American families and businesses save 5 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity, avoid more than $450 billion in energy costs, and achieve 4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas reductions.
