In April 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the AREA 2024 Biennial Training Conference in Rhode Island, where I deepened my understanding of my role and connected with anglers from across the nation. This conference allowed me to explore various approaches to volunteer management, learning firsthand from experienced professionals how they engage and empower their volunteers.
Additionally, I participated in regional meetings, gaining valuable insights into the unique challenges and successes of different areas. The experience broadened my perspective on best practices and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and innovation in our field. We also had the opportunity to visit Rose Island (picture) which is an island that fought against gentrification and nowadays they fight for their conservation of their flora and fauna counting with a lot of immigration birds and deers as well as a variety of plants.
