Izabel Castellano

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Izabel Castellano is loving Colorado as she pursues a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design at the University of Colorado-Denver where, in the spring of 2021, she will be the first of her family to graduate from college. Growing up as a second-generation Mexican-American she had the privilege of experiencing both Mexican and American culture throughout her childhood and has come to appreciate the beauty in the combination of the two. Through these experiences she learned to recognize the importance in accessibility of information in diverse demographics and the ways in which they influence the people receiving them. The diversity she encountered throughout her life has imbued her with compassion, drive, and a devotion to helping people. This has led to a love of conservation and the environment that motivates Izabel to work hard to promote sustainable practices and education whenever possible. With her passion for design, people, and environmentalism Izabel hopes to use her skills to create accessible education that makes a difference in the world and those around her. In her free time Izabel enjoys reading, drawing, attending concerts, and making pour-overs.
